What Could Be Small Dry Patch Of Skin On My Pubic Area?
Hi, I have a a small dry patch of skin on my pubic area. Its only on one side and is obviously dry and white looking and itches from time to time. Should i see a dermatologist or a gynecologist. I do have a history of exzema on my shoulders and chest.
I would keep a possibility of Tinea cruris/fungal infection of the groins. Classically fungal infections present as dry scaly patch with central clearing and peripheral extension, there is variable itching
I would suggest you to get a KOH Scraping test done to confirm the diagnosis
I would suggest you to use an OTC antifungal e.g clotrimazole cream, twice daily for 4-6 weeks
An OTC antihistamine e.g cetrizine 10mg once daily would provide you symptomatic relief from itching.
