What Could Be The 9 Mm Spot On Kidney Found In CT Scan?

Good Afternoon! My mom went to the doctor this morning and they did a CT scan and found a 9 mm spot on her kidney...any ideas as to what this is? Tumor? Cyst? Or, could it be a kidney stone? They really didn't tell her anything....scheduled for another test on January 4th.
