I am 37 years old about 5 foot 1 and weigh 124 pounds. I was diagnosed with PCOS in my teens and have never had a period naturally since that time. (I initially bled too long, was put on the pill for one year and stopped getting periods when I came off). I typically (for the last 3 years) take a natural progesterone cream for 14 days and my period comes shortly after. I do this roughly once every three months. Last month (the first week of November) I took the cream and my period never came which was incredibly unusual. I took multiple pregnancy tests and went to my Dr but nothing. They thought it was just a fluke and advised me to try the cream again this month and see what happens. To date I have not taken anything and this morning I had a gush of brown blood. I thought my period was starting (even though I did not take anything and I never get my periods) but now 4 hours later nothing. No bleeding, no spotting.
My question is... any ideas of what this brown gush was or what may be going on?
(Note: I did have my FSH and LH hormones checked a week ago because of the not getting a period after the cream and am waiting for the results)
