Hi my nephew has very high fever for 6 days now.doctors priscribed different kind of antibiotics but had no effect.they have seen infection in her throt and ears and now they want toget scan and blood test .we are very worried what it can be?

There can be many causes of high grade fever, in case of your nephew there is a clue in the form of presence of sore throat. Now sometimes the organisms causing this can be resistant to common antibiotic or they could be viral, which are non-responsive to antibiotics. The best way to approach these is to ask for a culture and antibiotic sensitivity. Your doctors are absolutely correct in asking for scans and relavant blood tests. so, please cope with them and do as suggested. Remember, this is a passing phase and will get over with proper medication.
