What Could Be The Cause Of Bump And Pain After Being Hit On The Top Of The Knee With A Slapshot?
I was hit at the top of knee with a slapshot, it struck above my padding and direct at top of kneecap. I had immediate pain and iced it, it was swollen and bruised, i have now noticed a hard bump at point of impact and it is very sore to touch, as well when i bend knee the area feels " tight" like the skin is being streached. I have cronic knee pain osteoarthritis and have had 3 miniscal and 1 ACL surgery on the knee. It has been 3 weks since injury I have been away dueing holidays and have not been able to see a doctor. What could be the cause of the bump and pain ? Fracture?
Hi welcome to health care magic forum. It appears that there is a hair line fracture of the lower femur, or upper tibia. As the knee is already weak, it is difficult to heal. I advise you to consult an orthopedic surgeon for diagnosis and treatment. You may need to have immobilization of the joint for 8 weeks, along with the medicines. Avoid taking potato, other tubers, tomato, egg, chicken, and sea foods till the pain and swelling come down. Wishing for a quick and complete recovery.Thank you.
