What Could Be The Cause Of Burning Feet In A Diabetic Person?
I am in my early 60's and I suffer from burning feet in the afternoon and evening. I have read that this may be due to diabetes, but I am quite certain that I am not a diabetic. What is the cause of this condition, and what can I do to reduce or eliminate this problem? Thank you.
Burning feet is due to hyperglycemia, some times if there is sudden rise in the blood sugars it irritates nerves to cause burning feet.
In long standing diabetes, on taking metformin there is evidence of loss of vitamin b12. Even most of the studies say there is no need to supplement with vitamin b12 but still most of the studies say you need to supplement with vitamins.
Secondly increase in the oxidative stress is also a cause for burning feet is also a complication.
A course of vitamin b12 with pregabalin will help to reduce the pain. But you need to control sugars at proper range with in normal limits
Thanks
