What Could Be The Cause Of Swollen And Sticky Eye In A 2.5 Year Old ?
hi my son is 2.5 yrs old. his ony eye was swollen & stick yesterday morning. by afternoon, it came to normal. but today morning the other eye had same problem. again by evening, normal. ehat may be the reason? what traetment shall i do?
from your description its looking like to be a bacterial conjunctivitis as it has spread to the other eye so fast and stickiness of eye is there. u can start with antibiotic drops like TOBRAMYCINEYE DROP, 3 times to both the eyes, can continue for 4-5 days and clean the eye with luke warm soaked cotton balls. try to prevent rubbing of the eyes.once the infection is controlled, the swelling will go by itself.
Hello;
Thanks for your query.
Since the eyes were swollen and sticky it could be a infection and the fact that it subsided on its own suggests that it is probably a viral infection.
Presently if the eyes are normal no need for any sort of medicines.
In case the infection comes back and is severe then you can consult a doctor and he will prescribe some eye drops after proper examination.
Take care.
Thanks
