What Could Be The Causes For Huntington's Disease?
My sister went to the hospital with low blood pressure. She has been feeling sick for weeks. She has Huntington's Disease, symptomatic since 2007. So far her urine is 4 plus bacteria. We are still waiting for blood tests to come back. She has a history of bleeding ulcers. She has lost 70 pounds in the past 4 months due to the HD
Hello Huntington's Disease is a fatal autosomal dominant disorder characterized by progressive motor , emotional & cognitive dysfunction. It is caused by mutations in the Huntington's gene on the short arm of chromosome 4 specifically an expanding and unstable polyglutamine repel in its eroding sequence. Diagnosis can be confirmed with GENETIC testing As you mentioned that your sister is having urine infection ( ++++ bacteria ) and bleeding history , She also lost weight 70 pounds within 4 months. The treatment should involve a multidisciplinary team that can provide SOCIAL , MEDICAL , NEUROPSYCHIATRIC & GENETIC guidance to your sister & your family through the course of illness. Also get in urine culture & drug sensitivity test . Please mention in detail about bleeding ulcer. In your sister case as she is loosing weight so please take care. In my opinion consult as I mentioned above TEAM of different persons. Good luck.
