What Could Be The Reason Behind All Time Fatigue Month After Recovering From Pneumonia And Double Ear Infection?
hello there!
my 13 year old son is extremely fatigued all the time. he gets about 8-9 hrs sleep every night and has a regular morning paper route that takes approx 40 mins 6 days per week. normally he is perfectly healthy but lately has been coming down with what appears to be a common cold regularly (2ish per month it seems) and in november was treated for pnuemonia and a double ear infection. now i can see why he would have been tired from the pneumonia, and all of the medication but should he still be just as tired as he was then ? i was thinking maybe mono but there are not really any other symptoms aside from the fatigue that match how he is feeling. wanted to run this by one of you.....
Hi and thanks for the query, It is not rare for children to develop fatigue after episodes of flu or rhinorrhea, especially when of viral origin. Daily intake of Vitamin C could be helpful. It is however imperative to evaluate the clinical state to ensure that the treatment of the pneumonia was complete, Screening for anemia could be useful also. The opinion of a pediatrician could be helpful. Kind regards
