What Could Be The Reason For A 80 Yr Old To Have Indigestion, Burping After Heart Surgery Where Stents Were Inserted?

Hello,
I am an 80 year old lady who suffered a heart attack 4 months ago and had two stents inserted.
Although making a good recovery, the last week has produced lots of burping and similar feelings of indigestion that I felt the night of the heart attack. Although the indigestion is not as bad as that night, I worry it might happen again and whilst I'm in no pain it is sore inside. Am I worrying unnecessarily? Thank you for your help.

Hi, welcome to our site. I am Dr Saumya Mittal.

Read your query. That is a very significant question and i appreciate your problem. I will try my best to answer your query

There are many possible reasons and possibilities.
One could be atypical symptoms of angina. I would suggest you have a stress echocardiography done. That will help us evaluate the issue.
Second, you may have too many medicines especially aspirin. This may be causing indigestion and gastritis. An antacid should help you there.

I am not ruling out anxiety, but I prefer to give weight to what the patient feels and try to rule out all the other possibilities before i say "you are worrying too much"

I hope this helps you. Inform the reports mentioned above so i can be of help further. Best of luck.

I have given you the answer to the maximum considering the information provided. The results of the tests could further enhance my answer to you.

Please do understand that some details could be extracted from a detailed history and examination.

Looking forward to your return query with the details asked so that I can help you further.
