Hello, and I would be happy to answer your question today.

First of all, it is too early to perform a pregnancy test immediately after intercourse. A pregnancy test will only be positive at least 3-4 weeks from fertilization, and usually after you miss your menstrual period.

Furthermore, bleeding after intercourse can have other causes, including infections and diseases of the cervix.

Therefore, I recommend you see a gynecologist for pelvic examination to fully evaluate your symptoms. If you desire pregnancy, your gynecologist will perform tests that will make sure you are healthy and properly advise you on how to successfully achieve pregnancy.

I hope that I was adequately able to answer your question today, and that my advice was helpful.

Best wishes,

Dr. Brown

OBGYN Dr. Shikha Shah's  Response
Hi there.
After reading your question and fully understanding your problem, I am of the opinion that
1) Post coital bleeding could be because of a small lesion or mass in your cervix or due to some pelvic infection. You should get yourself a pelvic examination by a gynaecologist.
2) If you have not missed your periods, and pregnancy tests are negative, then there is very less chance of pregnancy and you should not be worried.
3) The bleeding could also be a sign of ovulation and you might get pregnant if you have sex around that time.
4) My suggestion is that you wait for your periods to be missed and then take a pregnancy test to confirm pregnancy.

Hope this answer was helpful to you in some way.
Thanks,
Dr. Shikha Shah
