What Could Be The Reason For Cough More Than Two Years?

Alright Age: 25 Sex: Male Height: 5’7” Weight: 135lbs Race: Caucasion Duration of complaint: 2.5 Years Location (Geographic and on body): Throat/Lungs (Itchy Throat) Any existing relevant medical issues (if any): Only the Chronic Cough Current medications (if any): Singular, Breo Ellipta, Abudural Inhaler I need some serious help. I have had a persistent chronic cough for about 2 and a half years now. I tried things throughout, but never really took it as serious as I should have over the past two years. Recently its began to be really frustrating and I can’t figure it out. I have tried allergy medicine, changing my diet, and just tracking exactly what I eat to try to figure this out, but nothing seems to work. Below are some things I have tried recently. Chest X-Ray (Clear from anything) Singular and Breo Ellipta (7 days in, no real progress made), inhaler doesn’t help as well. I have an allergy prick test on this friday and just recently had a CT scan to evaluate my lungs on a deeper level, ill find out both of these by the end of this week. One thing that I have pieced together is my apartment’s bathroom fan hasn’t been working for 2 years and there is what looks like mold in my bathroom, as well as I have some water damaged drywall above my kitchen sink which exposes the gypsum board. I have also had the same window air conditioner since i moved in there and never changed the filter. I recently made the decision to stay with my parents for a month to completely avoid my apartment to see if that could be the solution, but will I even notice any difference in a months time? If its mold exposure that have me chronically coughing, how long would it take to make a difference? I see my allergy and asthma specialist on friday and will be bringing this up.

Hello,

Conditions like tuberculosis has to be considered. A sputum culture for TB has to be done. Allergic cough is another possibility.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
