Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Could Be The Reason For Dizziness And Heart Palpitations?
I went to the ER Saturday evening and was told that I likely have gastroenteritis. I was given fluids IV and sent home after the bag ran dry. I have not vomited or had diarrhea since I came home early Sunday morning. Sunday was okay, I just rested all day and drank fluids and ate some toast and bananas. Today, I am dizzy when I walk around or move my head too quickly, and I have been having heart palpitations off and on all day---more frequently this evening... I have been urinating and I have been drinking a lot of fluids... What might be causing the palpitations? I have not taken any meds or consumed any caffeine.
HI. The palpitations can be due to stress- over body and mind both. another reason is you have suffered from gastroenteritis. The toxins circulation in the body can have a direct effect on the heart. Hypotension due to third degree loos of bodily fluids into the intestine lumen ( which is of no value to the body unless re-absorbed back into the body) can also cause this. I would advise to get re-admitted and get investigated for electrolytes and other investigations... and get properly treated. Insist for cure.
