What Could Be The Reason For Having A Weird Growth On My Labia Majora?

Hi, I have a weird growth on the left side of my labia majora. It has been there for around 2 1/2 months and doesn't show any sign of leaving! I will preface this by saying, I went to the ER with a very painful UTI in early September, exactly a month later I developed a rash on my back, face and chest and then the growth appeared on my vagina shortly after. I am terrified as to what it could be. I have pictures I could send if that would be helpful!

Hi,

Yes, it would be easy to diagnose after seeing the picture. If possible you can send them.

According to your history, getting growth after developing rash indicating infective patholgy, whereas having the growth since 2 1/2 months indicating chronic nature.

The possible causes of the growth on labia majora you mentioned are:
-Genital warts

-Skin tags, varicosities
-Bartholin cyst
-Herpetic lesions

As the growth is persistent since 2 1/2 months, better to get examined. Please consult your Gynecologist once, get examined. By clinical examination the exact nature of the growth can be identified and treatment can be taken accordingly.

Warts or tags need removal either by cryotherapy or curettage, chemical treatment etc.
Herpetic lesions though preceded by rash usually present with clustered painful lesions, so that is less possible in your case. Bartholin cyst needs antibiotics, analgesic and anti inflammatory drugs.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
