What Could Be The Reason For Having Little Spots On Her Back?

I just noticed that my 4 yr old has little spots ( not bumps and they do not hurt) going in a line down her spine except a couple inches which she does not have them on in the middle of her back. I was curious what could cause it? It's kind of like a red blemish, not a bruise

Dermatologist 's  Response
Hi

Since your daughter has a skin lesion which is appearing in a linear pattern, there are various possibilities that need to looked into and ruled out.
The skin lesion can be a simple eczematous lesion or it can be a naevus . Also there is a long list of differentials which only a dermatologist can make out.
I would advise you to see a nearby dermatologist and get assessed for the same.

Radiologist Dr. V R Nandakumar's  Response

Hi and Welcome to HCM,

Commonly seen red blemish spots in children's are erythema multiforme,
eczema, impetigo, prickly heat and pityriasis rosea.

Most probably it may be bacterial infection.

Other possible causes are contact dermatitis and viral infections. Consult dermatologist for expert opinion.

Wish you speedy recovery

Thanks
