What Could Be The Reason For Having Mild Pain In His Right Ear?
Hi, my 10 year old son experienced mild pain in his right ear today after jumping from rocks at a height (3 or 4m) into water. Tonight, 10 hours later, his ear still hurts inside but only when he gently pulls on it. I assume a ruptured or perforated ear drum would be much more painful that this? Is he likely to have damaged his ear? Does he need to stay out of the ocean for some time and if so for how long? We are away on a beach holiday where we cannot easily visit a doctor. Thank you for any insights you can offer.
He may have not damaged the ear drum , but may have damaged the lining of the ear , which is causing the pain. he should stay out of the ocean for atleast a week and prevent water from entering the ear. if the pain increases or he complaints of hearing loss , then you should take him to the doctor.
Thanks
