Hi,

According to your history, the possibilities are:
- Intercourse can sometimes lead to complications like,
- Post coital tear, which can present as spotting. Minimal spotting will usually subside soon.
- Sometimes there possibility of development of infection or recurrence of UTI after intercourse. In that case pain with cramps can be seen.
- As it is only nine hours after intercourse, definitive conclusion cannot be made.

So, the possible measures that can help you are:
- Try to take good amount of water with electrolytes and one analgesic tablet, these can possibly correct the cramps.
- And take rest for few hours
- Don't hold the urine, void in every two to three hours
- Even after these, if the cramps persist, better to consult your gynecologist once, get examined and take treatment accordingly.

Antibiotics, analgesics and adequate intake of fluids can correct minor infections.

Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Sree Gouri S. R., OBGYN
