What Could Be The Reason For Having Severe Headache On Top Of My Head?

My husband is a 52 year old over weight male who suffers from clinical depression, sleep apnea and is heart skips beats many times during a week. Lately he has complained of a severe headache on the top of his head. It can come on at the later time in the day or last all day or even a few days. He s tried over the counter pain medications but no luck. The only thing that helps is an ice pack on the top of his head. He doesn t do anything at home now except go to work, come home and lie on the couch with the ice pack until he goes to bed. Any suggestions for us?

Hello
It seems from the history that your husband is having depression and headache.

This can be because of primary headaches like tension headache or migraine headache or cluster headache.

Hence this requires examination by a physician to find out the underlying cause and treatment accordingly.
Thank you
