I am a female age 68 I have always had normal blood preasure readings. I exercise regulary e.g gym twice a week swim one day walk and cycle frquently. I have eaten a vegetarian diet for the past 20 yrs enjoy 2/glasses of wine at the weekends have not smoked for the past 30 years. Recently my blood preasure has increased quite dramatically to 183/104 the lowest has been 154/100. My mother died at 66 after a cardiac arrest so at the moment I feel quite concerned
This is the case when genetic factor come out even if you have done all your best. So I think this is essential arterial hypertension and you have to cure it in order to protect other organs as kidneys, brain, heart etc. I suggest a visit to the cardiologist to have a prescription of anti-hypertensive drugs.
