What Could Be The Reason For Immense Pressure In Head?

My boyfriend comes across feeling like he has immense pressure in his head it feels like it s going to explode. When this happens he says it feels like his brain feels like it is too big inside his head and is going to burst. During these times he can t breathe properly. What do you think this is and why would it be?

Hello!

Thank you for your question on HCM! I appreciate your concern!

I think that the symptoms you describe may be related to anxiety. But a brain lesion can not be excluded only by the information provided.

So I would recommend you to consult him with a neurologist, for a careful physical examination for neurological signs.

In case of any abnormality encountered a brain CT scan would be necessary to exclude any intracranial lesions.

Hope to have been helpful!

Greetings! Dr. Aida
