What Could Be The Reason For Losing Eyebrows?

losing eyebrows to mites; also have them in scalp. Very itchy! Have tried everything. Doctor did not even test me for mites, but gave me a Rx for prednisone. I am at my wit's end. How can I get rid of them? I have loads of black dots on my skin, in my eyebrows (what is left) and on my face. They look like very course ground black pepper. Help!

Hi,

I can understand your concern for losing eyebrows.

As I can get from your query that you are also suffering from mites so there is a possibility of head lice. If you are scratching the area badly then can get loss of eye brows due to friction and pulling during itching.

I suggest you to apply permethrin 1% lotion or ivermectin lotion over the affected area for 24 hours.

Take antihistamine like loratadine for 2 times and additionally take ivermectine orally.

Do not worry you will be alright.

Take care.
