I woke up yesterday morning with swelling under my eye (botton eyelid) it s quite painful to touch and tender and it just feels like my eye is really swollen - no redness or anything. its quite painful along the bottom of the lower eyelashes. what could this be?
This seems to be stye. In our lids, there are glands of Zeis & meibomian glands. These get blocked. Then these get infected & swollen. This leads to stye which causes severe pain. Take following treatment
. Apply antibiotic eye ointment to eyelid Don't neglect it. Sometimes neglected stye cases may develop severe lid edema with pain, fever, etc. This is called as orbital cellulitis. In this case, one may need oral antibiotics for longer duration & hospital admission for intravenous antibiotics
