I am sorry that you are having a difficult period. An
early miscarriage is one possibility, however there are many others such as an under functioning
thyroid, or an infection. Periods can be heavier because they are irregular and large fluctuations in the normal changes in the menstrual cycle may be due to reasons such as aging or changes in your natural body rhythms due to
stress, swing shifts, new female roommates.
If your current episode is from a an early
pregnancy loss, a pregnancy test may still be positive. The first morning void should be most sensitive as the pregnancy hormone is most concentrated. If it is positive, the bleeding and pain will pass in a few days. You should repeat the test n a few days to make sure it becomes negative. Sometimes pregnancy continues even after bleeding, or there can be a medical condition that keeps the pregnancy hormone elevated, even if a pregnancy is not established.
Please see a local doctor if your menses continues to be irregular, painful, or heavy, or if your pregnancy test remains positive.
Do you know your blood type? If it is
Rh negative, and you have miscarried, even if the pregnancy test is now negative, it is important to see a local doctor to prevnt problems in a future pregnancy due to blood type incompatibility between you and your baby.
