What Could Bleeding Post Intercourse Post Recovery From Yeast Infection Indicate?

I had a yeast infection over a week ago. I took over the counter one day vaginal treatment. All my symptoms cleared up in seven days but I am still having bleeding after me and my boyfriend have sex. I have no discomfort or itching before or after the sex. As well as no discomfort during foreplay. Any suggestions as to what the problem is?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
hello,
i can understand your concern.
vaginal bleeding post intercourse in a premenopausal lady can be due to many causes most of them are benign.
infection being the most common cause. i would suggest you meet a gynec and get a proper antibiotic treatment for the infection which is usually a antifungal drug like fluconazole(150 mg single dose) this should help you relieve you of the symptoms.
even if the problem persists a pap smear test is advised.
hope you ae satisfied with the response.
thanks for choosing HCM
