Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Could Brown Specks After Urinating While Having Urinary Incontinence Indicate?
I ve noticed brown specks when wiping after urinating. I don t think it s related to my menstrual cycle because it happens almost daily. I was diagnosed with Ureaplasma urealyticum about 8 months ago. After taking the antibiotics, I developed a yeast infection and was treated for that. I have no discharge or other symptoms. However, I do suffer from urinary incontinence. Could the specks be dried urine from leakage, a mild yeast infection, or something else? Thanks?
Brown specs may be the following: 1) Occult blood in urine seen in urinary tract infections, urinary stones, injuries, and various kidney diseases 2) Vaginal spotting
You need to undergo the following investigations: 1) Complete urine examination 2) Urine culture and sensitivity 3) Complete blood picture 4) Serum creatinine 5) Blood urea nitrogen
Please do consult a nephrologist for further evaluation. With the help of above tests we can make out what these brown specs are and can initiate treatment. Please don't worry as It is treatable.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Pallavi M., Anesthesiologist
