What Could Bruised Knuckles With Dry, Thick Brown Skin In A Child Indicate?
My 7 year old boy has what looks be bruised knuckles on both hands. Looks like dry thick brownish red skin on the knuckle area only. He says it s not itchy and doesn t hurt in any way but it s verry noticable. He is perfectly healthy in every way. Any ideas??
It can be a fungal infection or a skin reaction to different things such as detergents or soap. Has he been playing in soil or old abandoned areas? Tell him to refrain from going to such areas. Try using hypoallergenic unscented mild soap, dtergents and shampoo. Take him to a dermatologist if it persists
