What Could Cause ALT 59, AST 25, Glucose Level 101 And 225 Cholesterol Level?
Hello my ALT is 59 and AST 25, while glucose level is 101 and cholesterol total 225. I don t drink but I am taking plenty of prescribed medication for high blood pressure, etc. I don t take Tylenol, just occasionally. Could you please tell me what might be the cause of these results?
Hi! Welcome to HCM! I can understand your problem, it is not a serious matter of concern.
Of the given laboratory results, it is only the cholesterol level 225 mg/dl that is increased. Where as the other tests are with in the normal ranges. kindly check your body weight, if the BMI is higher than 25 then you have to change your life style like daily physical exercise, avoid taking fast foods, restrict the salt intake, etc. Sometimes high cholesterol level could be due to the medicine (Hydrocholorothiazide) used for high blood pressure.
Regarding the high cholesterol level you have to start taking daily Statins (Lipitor 10 mg) in the evening hours. This has to be continued along with the medications for the high blood pressure. Take care! Regards!
