What Could Cause WBC Count Of 57000 While Being On Treatment For Stroke And Having Diabetes?
my papa s age is 63 years old. Now he is under treatment of Dr.Bobby varkey for stroke disease for last four years. He is diabetic. last week his wbc count was 57000. now we are waiting for the result of bone marrow test.what is conclution for this increase wbc.what is the further treatment of this disease
Hi, Thanks for asking. Based on your query, my opinion is as follows. 1. Differential count is necessary to make a diagnosis. 2. 57000 is too high and could be due to mainly chronic lymphocytic leukemia at this age or secondary to bone marrow occupying lesion. 3. Infection would not usually cause this high range. If the lymphocytes count is high, it will support diagnosis of chronic lymphocytic leukemia. Bone marrow biopsy along with flow cytometry is necessary for further categorization and treatment. Hope it helps. Any further queries, happy to help again.
