What Could Cause A Dark Flat Mole On The Shoulder?

I have a dark flat mole on my shoulder that I have had for a long time. When I have had it checked in the past I was told it was okay. I was just gently rubbing my shoulder and it started flaking off. I will be glad to have it gone but I am concerned. Is this a problem? Why is it flaking off?

Hello,
Thanks for the query,
You might have developed seborrheic keratosis.
It is an age related change.
It happens due to blockade of sebaceous glands.
Removal can be done by radiofrequency ablator.
A photograph would have helped me better.
Please meet a dermatologist for exact diagnosis.
Let me know if you have any other doubt.
you can ask a direct question to me on this forum, following the below link.
