Hi,I am Dr. Gopal Goel (Orthopaedic Surgeon). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have a pain in the back of my right hip, 5" to the right of my spine. It has existed for 10+ years. When it flairs up I have numbness that wraps around my hip, down the side of my leg and around my knee. I have see a primary care doctor, chiropractors, had 3 rounds of physical therapy and x-rays (the only thing found was a bone island). The hip is again flaring up, particularly when I lay down. I do not know where to go from here. Suggestions?
First I want to ensure you that your hip is normal. This looks like a problem of spine as disc prolapse causes these type of symptoms. I would recommend you to get an Mri scan of your back which will tell us real picture. Till than you an start methylcobal tablet. Avoid bending forward and lifting heavy weigh.
