What Could Cause A Stroke At The Back Of The Eye And Blurrrness?

I just saw my optometrist because the vision in my Rt eye suddenly decreased & I had a lot of blurring. He informed me I had had a stroke @ the back of my eye & showed test results. What is it called? Is there a likelihood of reoccurrence? What can I do to ensure it won't. I have a history of high BP & am on meds. I am not overwt & have never been, eat healthy, drink mainly water, about 8 glasses, walk a lot, & look healthy, I'm 66yr old.

Hello
It seems from the history that you are having blurred vision following stroke at the back of the eye.
This is because of obstruction of the blood vessels in the retina and can be retinal artery occlusion or retinal vein occlusion.
These conditions are caused by systemic diseases like hypertension, diabetes, atherosclerosis...
The treatment is by control of the underlying disease to prevent recurrence. In your case prompt control of BP is required.

Thank you
