What Could Cause Acne Like Rashes In Upper Body After Undergoing Uterine Polyp Removal Under General Anaesthesia?
Hi, I had uterine polyp removal under general anesthesia 4 weeks ago. In about 2 weeks after the surgery, I developed rash/pimples on my chest, neck and upper back that look like acne. My period was 5 days after the surgery, about 2-3 days later than usual. What could be causing the rash?
Prima Facae, the pustular lesions you have developed on your torso do not appear to be related to the removal of uterine polyp. Neither is it related to your menstrual cycle. The commonest possibilities I can think of are: 1. Allergy to some medicines that you might have taken after surgery. However, it would have caused these lesions immediately and not after 2 weeks. 2. Viral infection like measles, chicken pox, etc. from the varicella group of viruses.
Allergic rash can be tackled with some steroids for few days. Viral infections are usually self limiting and you have to take care that you do not catch up secondary bacterial infection on them. Also you should not spread them to the others. These lesions may even be present in the throat also.
For local relief you may apply some smoothening ointments like Lacocalamine lotion or so.
However, the diagnosis has to be confirmed. Please visit your Physician for differential diagnosis and appropriate treatment.
I hope this helps you.
