Hi,
Few more details are needed to ascertain exact diagnosis- How long it had been there? Colour and shape (flat or elevated surface)? peeling of overlying skin? any blistering or oozing? It would be more helpful if you can send a picture.
An itchy rash can suggest tinea (
fungal infection), urticaria, allergic conditions like eczema or an insect bit reaction. Other than tinea)needs antifungal creams), all these will respond to steroid creams and antihistamines for few days.
Joint pain is probably unrelated and may suggest osteoarthrits, which is common in this age. Simple analgesics like
paracetamol along with
physiotherapy can help. Sometimes we used to give
calcium supplements also. If disturbing and chronic, it will be better to follow up with a physiotherapist.
Kindly get back with details. Meanwhile you can take antihistamine like
levocetirizine 5mg once daily to relieve itching.
Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Muhammed Aslam TK, Pediatrician
