What Could Cause Back Spasms And Anxiety After Taking Pain Medicine, Flexeril?

Hi, I just took 5 mg of flexeril, I cut it in half, I dont know why they gave it to me because I take 30 mg of fluoxentine...This is the first time, and I dont know if Im having a reaction or nerves . anxiety, i have back spasms in my back, and right now I am terrrified...scared, this is why I dont tak anything for pain, low tolerance..Marissa

Thanks for posting on HCM,

Actually flexeril (generic name: cyclobenzaprine) is supposed to be a muscle relaxant used when ever you are having muscle cramps/spasms and would hardly be responsible (not directly) for back spasms but could be responsible for anxiety. You may simply be experiencing side effects of flexeril. Amongst the most common we have anxiety, restlessness, fever, sweating, twitching, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, seeing or hearing things that are not there, seizures or tremors etc. This medication should not have been prescribed if there was no indication such as muscle cramps and if you are experiencing already side effects it will be best to discontinue it.
Also talk to your doctor about these new development while you started taking the drug.
