What Could Cause Body Aches And Chills Persistently For 3 Days?
3days ago I came home from work and almost suddenly every muscle in my body ached, chills but no fever. I slept almost 16 hours straight through. Up for 5 hours, then slept another 8 hours. I felt well to go to work but again after I got home a fever of 102 hit and left after 3 hours. Today the same thing except fever only got up to 100.5 Any ideas?
Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advise.
Does fever associated with diarrhoea and vomiting? Or does it associated with joint pain / pain behind eyeballs? Above symptoms are suggestive of typhoid fever or dengue fever respectively.
If it is only associated with chills, rigors and sweating episodes which peaks every 2nd or 3rd day then it is malaria.
So I advice you to go for peripheral blood smear examination along with complete blood counts and consult physician.
Till then you can take paracetamol as and when required.
Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further. Regards Dr. Hiren
