A bump on my lower lip appeared and a few small ones under my lip to. They dont itch or burn but im paranoid it may be herpes. None are located in or on my vaginal area. Ive never had these symptoms before and i know it was not sexually transmitted bc my partner is tested negative. It appeared after during my cold and Im also 32 weeks pregnant so can that play a role in my new symptoms?
I am so sorry to hear about these bumps. The truth is that the most common cause of fever sores on the lips is herpes. However, not all bumps are caused by herpes. There are several types of herpes virus. The one that predominantly affects the lips is type I while type II is mostly genital. However, they can be carried from one area to the other.Genital herpes is sexually transmitted but oral herpes is not genitally transmitted.
In all, it must not necessarily be herpes. It could still be a bacteria infection. However, it has no effect on the current pregnancy. Even genital herpes would only be a problem is the lesions are active.
