What Could Cause Bumps On The Neck Which Are Flaking Off With Itchiness?
two days ago, i developed some itchy raised very tiny bumps on one side of my neck at the front of it, they looked like the skin does when you have goose bumps. now, i see there is flaking of the skin in the areas where those tiny goosebumps were and they're flaking off and it's very itchy there. what's happening to me?
I can understand your concern for the bumps on the neck which are flaking off with itchiness.
The very first and important information to provide you is that it can be an outbreak of shingles. It begins as multiple blisters on one side of body and specifically at one region only. The blisters remain for a period of around 7-14 days and then forms scab which fall off in next 2 weeks. So if your symptoms matches the above thing then it is shingles only. The pain and discomfort remains for a long period of time even up to multiple months.
If your symptoms are not matching above then you need to take second opinion and accordingly go for the investigations suggested by the doctor. It is not a good choice to g for scan by yourself without a expert opinion.
You may need antiviral such as Acyclovir orally for 5-7 days for proper treatment.
Hope these informations are helpful.
