What Could Cause Burning In Throat And Chest After Taking Antibiotics And Nurophen For Tonsillitis?
I have been diagnosed with tonsillitis and given antibiotics to take 4 a day along with nurophen. I have been taking them for a few days now and have juSt started experiencing a painful burning pain in my throat and just below my chest. I was just wondering what the cause of this may be?
Hi, Thank you for your query. Burning pain in the throat and chest may be due to drug induced gastritis. Nurophen contains ibuprofen which is a pain killer and it will lead to gastritis by causing gastric irritation. Take medication along with food. And consult the doctor for prescription of antacid medication such as omeprazole or pantoprazole which will decrease burning pain in the chest. Hope I have answered your query. Regards.
