Hi,I am Dr. Gopal Goel (Orthopaedic Surgeon). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hello, I had an acl reconstruction of my right knee 16 months ago. I have been hearing crackling sounds from the joint sincetwo months. On consulting the doctor , he said that its nothing but some debris out there because of which sounds are coming. He gave me medicine- LUBRIJOINT. But the sound still prevails. Although I dont have any kind of pain when crackling occurs and full extension of my knee is possible, but still I am worried with the sound. They are sometimes too loud.
What is the reason behind the sound? Amd is it dangerous if I dont think much about it and let the cracklings prevail? I am 18 years old and I being a student cannot give time for a new surgery. Any remedies!?? Please help me Thank you
As per your symptoms you need to do physiotherapy and knee exercises to improve range of motion . If pain persist then you may need to do MRI again to see for any functional defect.
small meniscus tear can be managed conservatively with physiotherapy with USG andTENS.
