my daughter had grommets put in feb 2010 and she has had many ear infections since.. loud noices hurt her ears sometimes putting her in tears and ive noticted the past week she has started to slur the letter L.. one of the grommets is filled with wax and the other ear is infected and she is on antibiotics.. she only just turned 4 and im worried about her hearing and the infections she keeps getting, can there be any long term damage ?
If there is active infection, grommet has to be removed and can be reinserted once the active infection has been settled.
Consult an ENT specialist and get evaluated.
