Pediatrician 's  Response
Hello. I just read through your question. There is no way to prevent naturally enlarged tonsils. Some of us just develop them. Not every person with enlarged tonsils are symptomatic. However, based on your description, your son is showing symptoms. It is good that he will be seen by an ENT. Don't worry that you are still awaiting the appointment. He will be fine until then. The best thing to do now is wait for the ENT's opinion. Good luck.
