What Could Cause Frequent Urge To Pass Stools With Constant Gas And Cramps?

I have a regular normal bowel movement in the morning, but recently, during the day i have constant wind and feel the need to go back to the bathroom time and time again. Usually I am unable to go but the wind cramps continue. what could be the cause?
