What Could Cause Headache In A 3 Years Old Child?

My daughter just turned 3, and has been complaining of severe headaches in the morning right when she wakes up. Tonight she had a very severe nosebleed, clots pouring out of her nose. What could this be? Should I take her to the ER? She has a history of petite mal seizures also.

Seizure disorder can be closely associated with headache disorder as well and therefore, this is one possibility. However, a nosebleed could also be the signal of an infectious process as well. She may have a viral infection of the upper airways and always remember that headaches in toddlers could be as the result of earaches as well. I believe a call to her pediatrician is your best bet at this point along with clear fluids, good hydration, and good nutrition if she is eating.
