What Could Cause Hot Flashes And Sweats In A Hysterectomy Person?
I had a hysterectomy when I was40. I am now 69 and on HRT. I continue to have horrid hot flashes and sweats. In fact I am too warm all the time - to the point of being miserable. I had my FSH done which is 7.92, my LH is 3.91 and my progesterone was 0.2. What is normal for a woman like me?
At 69 FSH and LH are expected to be elevated, even while on hormonal therapy. Your FSH and LH are in the normal reproductive age range. To achieve such a normal level at 69 usually indicates an excess use of HRT, as an excess level can suppress FSH and LH even post menopausally. I wonder if you need less HRT, not more. Also some women require a little testosterone to acheive full supression of flashing. If that doesn't work it will be time for your gynecologist to send you to a good internist as many other things beside menopause can cause flashes.
