What Could Cause Knots, Catch And Clicking In Shoulders/ Back After A Shoulder Roll In Football?
I was doing a drill in football where we dove and rolled on our shoulders. after that day my shoulder was pretty sore but i kept playing. this happened about 3 months ago and it still bothers me. its not painful and doesnt inhibit my range of motion. but there is a clicking and catching when i move shoulder around. it also is always tender on one spot on the top of my shoulder. since the injury i have had a great deal of knots in my back/shoulder and they are quite annoying. what do you think is the problem? what can i and what can i not do? thanks

General & Family Physician, Dr. Vidya KR's Response
Hi, thanks for using HCM.
From your history and symptoms, i feel it could be a ligament tear or shoulder joint capsule tear. Get examined by a orthopedic doctor, may need MRI of shoulder joint for confirmation of diagnosis. Capsular injury or ligament tear needs to be treated, as untreated condition on long term may result in arthritis of joint.
Hope this helps you.
Regards
