What Could Cause Monthly Symptoms Of Periods While Hitting Menopause?

i am a 48 year old female. havent had a period in about 6 months. i recently had some blood work done that would indicate that i am hitting menopause. (which makes sense). however my question is why do i still seem to get the monthly symptoms associated. i have a low-grade headache, constipated, an appetite that cant be fulfilled, facial acne, and enlarged breasts. this will go on for about a week and then just go away w/o getting the period. pregnancy tests are negative. we resume normalcy again, and then its like the schedule is resetting again, and the symptoms reappear, but never w/ a period.
