What Could Cause Mottled Strange Discolouring On Arms And Legs ?
we just picked our 10 year old daughter up from school complaining of a stomach ache, but what has us worried is that she has a mottled, strange discoloring on her arms and legs. apparently she hasn t eaten anything out of the ordinary or taken anything. she is on ritalin for 1 year and nothing else.
Thanks for writing to health care magic. I can understand your concern. You should consult your doctor at the earliest for a complete physical examination. Your doctor may order certain investigations based on the physical examination findings. Further management depends on the diagnosis made. So consult your doctor for a examination to identify the cause. There could be several causes for that abnormal discoloration of the skin. Is your daughter passing urine and stool normally? Is there any associated itching?
Continue to ask further queries as required. Hope this helps. Take care. Dr Y V Siva Sankara Murty M.D.(Pediatrics) Associate Professor of Pediatrics
