What Could Cause Numb And Tingling Sensation In Hands And Feet?

My 6 year old son complains about his hands and feet constantly falling asleep (going numb or tingling). Its mostly his hands though. Hes a little on the heavy side weight wise and I am concerned for him can you please tell me what might be wrong? Thank you
