What Could Cause Pain In Hip With Difficulty In Sitting And Sleeping?

I have hip pain when sitting and laying down on my left hip. I have been to the doctor and have received a shot in my left hip for bursitis. The shot offered no relief. I m wondering if I have bursitis. and that shot hurt me for days after I received it. The pain when sitting moves to the side and sometimes to the front of my thigh. Do I need to see another doctor and is there a test I can do on myself to get a better idea of what it might be

I would suggest you to get MRI of the hip joint. As if there is any pathology MRI will going to tell us any thing suspicious. If there is any labral tear or hip synovitis or any cartilage damage.
Also if there is any avascular necrosis of the hip joint that can also be detected by MRI.
Most of these problems can be solved by hip Arthroscopy and minor procedures. Till that time you should take Brufen for pain relief and avoid squatting and cross leg sitting.
