What Could Cause Pain In The Lower Back And Abdominal Bloating In A Person Whose Colonoscopy And X Ray Reports Are Normal?

I have pain in my lower back- my right side that is now moving into my right hip, deep inside pain. I also have bloating on a near daily basis. My energy levels are lower than I am used to. At times can feel full after eating just a small meal- but I can still over eat! I have had this back pain for several months. I have seen my GP who took an xray? Nothing there. My chiropractor simply gave me more stretches to do. I walk quite a bit and swim 3 times a week. 56 F- 145 lb, 5 2 No issues with going to the bathroom regularly or stool consistency. Had my colonoscopy last year- all good.

Hello,

We have to rule out possible causes like pancreatitis. As of now you can take antacids like omeprazole or pantoprazole for symptomatic relief. If symptoms persists better to consult a gastroenterologist and plan for a CT scan or MRI scan.

Hope I have answered your queries. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Shinas Hussain, General & Family Physician
